00:00 On this video I'm going to talk about shower bench heights so shower seat shower bench that can call the other way a lot of times. The shower seats they'll be either 18 to 22 inches. A 20 inch bench typically is his normal 20 inch and now that's 20 inch finish to remember so when you frame it in what we call rough rough it. In rough frame it in you're gonna want to take into consideration in your shower floor height because if you're floating your shower floors and you're gonna make that slope for the drain. There's gonna be a height difference between the rough you know your rough floor and your finish tile floor.

So you've got to take those into consideration so that you get that right 20 inches but so 20 seems to be about the right height for most folks. Normally you'd have it about 14 inches deep from the wall so that gives you just enough room to sit without having it. You know take up too much space of your of your shower and then of course you want this to be sloped at about a quarter inch per foot so so that makes sure that any water that that falls on here sheets off and falls to the floor and then also that's that sloped and it goes to your drain so something else to consider here is see how I have this short here.

01:21 So this is kind of nice for a slider. If you have a slider area. Here you'd have your your curb here and you'd have your slider here. This way you can have a slider and still have a bench. A lot of people think they can't have a bench with a slider because you'd run it into the bench. But if you start your bench on the inside of your shower curb you can put your slider in and then when you open your slider door. You'd have this little area here that you could clean so it doesn't enclose anything off and voila. You can put a slider in a in a shower with a bench just another tip and see you next time you.
