How to measure the shower door?

When it comes to selecting a shower door, one of the most important factors to consider is the size. Choosing the right size shower door can help you maximize your bathroom space, and ensure that your shower enclosure is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Measuring must be taken only AFTER walls are finished (tile, back walls, etc.). Check your walls if are plumb and your shower base/tub or flat surface shower floor is level. In this blog, we’ll discuss how to measure your space to determine the appropriate size shower door.

Measure the Width of the Shower Opening

First, measure the width of your shower opening. Use a tape measure to measure the distance from one wall to the other. Be sure to measure at the top, middle, and bottom of the opening, as walls are often uneven. And Record the smallest measurement as your width.

Measure the Height of the Shower Opening

Next, measure the height of the shower opening. Measure from the top of the shower base or bathtub rim to the top of the shower opening. Again, be sure to measure at multiple points to account for any unevenness.

If you are replacing an existing shower door, measure the width and height of the existing door and use those measurements as a guide when selecting a new door.
