Create a gallery wall. Curate a collection of framed artwork, photographs, or prints in various sizes and arrange them in an eye-catching composition12. This adds personality and visual interest to the space.
-
Install large-scale art. An oversized painting or photograph can make a bold statement and set the tone for the room1. Consider a striking abstract piece or a dramatic black-and-white photo.
-
Add texture with wall hangings. Incorporate tapestries, macramé, or woven wall hangings to bring softness and dimension to the wall1.
-
Use wallpaper creatively. Apply wallpaper to create an accent wall with pattern or texture. You can opt for bold prints or subtle textures depending on your style13.
-
Install floating shelves. Mount decorative shelves to display books, plants, and small objets d'art2. This adds both storage and visual interest.
-
Create a statement with wall paneling. Add architectural interest with shiplap, board and batten, or other types of decorative wall paneling2.
-
Hang mirrors strategically. Mirrors can make a space feel larger and brighter while adding a decorative element2. Consider a large statement mirror or a collection of smaller ones.
-
Incorporate plants. Mount wall planters or hanging plants to bring life and color to your wall1.
-
Display a collection. Showcase a collection of items like baskets, plates, or other decorative objects in an artistic arrangement12.
-
Paint a mural. If you're feeling artistic, consider painting a mural or geometric design directly on the wall for a truly unique and personalized touch2.
Remember to consider the overall style and color scheme of your living room when choosing wall decor. The goal is to create a cohesive look that enhances the space and reflects your personal taste.
