Answer
To clean a jetted tub naturally, follow these steps:
  1. Flush internal plumbing: Fill the tub with hot water, adding 2 cups of white vinegar. Turn off the air-induction valves and run the jets for 10-15 minutes to flush out accumulated gunk and bacteria1.
  2. Clean the tub surface: Sprinkle baking soda over the tub and scrub it with an old, damp cloth. Pay special attention to the waterline area, faucet, and drain. Fill the tub with water, add 3 cups of vinegar, and run the jets for at least 3 minutes. Use a toothbrush to clean around the jets2.
  3. Deep clean the jets: Use a long-handled scrub brush to scrub any tub ring. Drain the water and sprinkle baking soda over the tub. Let it sit for 10 minutes before scrubbing clean. Rinse the tub thoroughly3.
  4. Sanitize and rinse: Spray the jets and around the drain with a bleach-free disinfectant and let it sit for a few minutes. Scrub the sprayed areas with an old toothbrush and rinse the tub once more3.
  5. Regular maintenance: Clean the tub regularly to prevent mold and mildew buildup. Use a dishwasher tablet and vinegar to clean the jets every week or two3.
By following these steps, you can effectively clean your jetted tub without using harsh chemicals.

  • 00:00 You're ready to take a nice relaxing hot bath at the end of the day when you find your bathing with this gross disgusting black flakes swimming around there with you have you been there before well I have and it's totally turned me off from wanting to use my jetted tub well. Today. I'm going to show you how to clean your jetted tub so that you can actually have that nice relaxing bath you can see in here. The gross black mold that is inside the Jets. The first thing I'm going to do here is I'm going to just twist off the Jets here on my bathtub. I just turn it to the left as far as I can and it kind of does this pop and then I twist it off. This is what I found I can't believe it. It was so disgusting when you empty the water from your bath. Water gets stuck in the Jets which can cause products and body oils to sit and just breed bacteria and mold. The next thing I'm going to do here is take off this cover for the water intake before I started to go to work on scrubbing out the inside of the Jets I wanted to fill up a bucket of hot water with a little bit of vinegar and put all of the Jets that I just pulled off into the bucket to let them soak for a little while foreign my window so that it would be ventilated properly because I was going to use this soft scrub here which actually has bleach in it. So I didn't want to have any of the cleaners.

  • 01:48 Mixed. I actually moved the bucket of water and vinegar into a different location so that those fumes were not mixing together. I grabbed an old toothbrush and went to work and I was really impressed with how this soft scrub worked. I tried to make sure that I scrubbed down every little part as far as my toothbrush could reach and I just wanted to wipe it down here to show the difference from before and after and it's amazing I was really again. I was really impressed. At this point. I decided it was probably smart for me to use gloves so that I didn't get the soft scrub on my hands and here I am just scrubbing down this water intake. But then I'm going to finish scrubbing all of the Jets foreign and while I was at it. I might as well clean the drain as well.

  • 02:52 It took me a minute to figure out how to get this whole thing off. I knew that I could twist that knob off. But then I finally realized I needed to use a screwdriver to get the rest off and as I opened it. I actually wasn't too surprised. There. Obviously was some hair and some Gunk but not a lot. I grabbed my drain stick and shoved it down there as far as I could now this stick you can buy at any hardware store at Walmart but as you can see there really wasn't a lot for me to get out. So I just wanted to give it a nice good scrub down to get off any soap scum or any Gunk that was left on there. Next I wanted to just give the whole bath a good scrub down. So I just poured a little bit of soft scrub all over it and gave it a good scrub. My shower is right next to my bathtub and the shower head reaches so it was really easy to grab that and just give it a quick rinse. You can also use a bucket or a cup to kind of swish it off.

  • 03:52 There were some hard water stains around where the Jets were so. I just got a little scraper and scraped off all of the hard water stains. Foreign. I was really happy with the results and how good these looked after this I needed to get to scrubbing down. All the Jets I grabbed the bucket which again had hot water and vinegar in it. It wasn't hot anymore obviously because it had been sitting for a little while grabbed the toothbrush and started to give it a scrub. Now this was actually really difficult trying to get in these little crevices here was hard. I grabbed a Q-tip to see if I could get more out it worked sort of but not great. It didn't seem like the vinegar was working very well for me so I decided to abandon this idea. I took the Jets to the sink in my laundry room and gave them a good scrub down in there because the soft scrub cleaner worked so well on the Jets. Inside the tub. I decided to use that so I scored a little bit on and went to work scrubbing it as best I could laughs foreign the nozzle on my sprayer.

  • 05:22 In My Sink here has a bunch of hard water on it so it actually only has one here that's working. So I had a lot of pressure which worked perfect. So you can see here that I'm trying to squirt in all the holes trying to get out as much mold as I could I actually did try to take part the top and the bottom I had a hard time getting it apart. I didn't want to break it. So I tried to squirt it as best I could but you can see here that there is still a little bit of mold left inside. It's just gonna have to be there.

  • 05:46 It's the best that I can do but here is a before and after of how they look thank you. I think I called this an air intake before. But I don't think that's what it is I actually think this is just a filter. So I just gave this also a good scrub down as well. The Next Step was to pop the Jets back on and twist them just to make sure that they are on nice and tight and then here I'm just screwing the filter back on to the bathtub and as you can see here. This looks so much better than it did in the very beginning. I don't see any more of the black mold or bacteria. On there I was really happy again with the results. Next. You want to fill up your tub with hot water and you want it to be filled about an inch or two above the highest jet. Now there is a lot of different ways you can clean this out.

  • 07:15 Today I decided to use a little bit of Dawn dish soap. I just used a tiny bit. You can also use about two tablespoons of dishwashing detergent. That's low foaming you could also try some laundry detergent. I've even heard people use OxiClean. You can also use vinegar or even add vinegar to the soap. Here you could also use. Bleach definitely don't mix the vinegar and bleach. Together. It is recommended though that you don't use bleach very often as it can wear out the seals so I just am going to avoid the bleach. There are also cleaners that are made specifically for Jetta tub. There's one that's called oh yuck but I just wanted to use what I had at home. So I just used the dishwashing soap after adding your soap to the water. You need to turn it on and let it run for about 10 to 15 minutes.

  • 07:58 But if you could see her just a second ago. It's squirt out a bunch of black mold and you can see it all floating around in the back. There I definitely do not want to be bathing in this so I'm feeling really good about getting that out just gonna go ahead and drain all the hot water out and I liked to give it just a quick rinse down. I think I accidentally forgot to film it. So I don't have it here shown but I'd like to make sure I rinse all of the black flakes down the drain. So I'm not mixing those together here in the next step okay. Now you're going to fill up your bath one more time but this time you're going to fill it up with cold water and you're not going to put anything in it. Then you're going to let it run again for another 10 to 15 minutes to give it a really good rinse in the Jets. Here's what it looked like after I gave the 10 to 15 minute rinse of cold water. There are still some black flakes I could probably do it again but I decided that that was good enough if you only use it. Occasionally you can get away with cleaning it about four to five times per year even if you don't use the Jets though you still need to clean them out because once you drain the water. There's still all the bacteria left in there so you definitely still need to get those cleaned if you enjoy this video and found it helpful. I would love it if you could give it a thumbs up and I think you might like this video here on five speed cleaning tips thank you for being here and I'll catch you next time.
