Here are 6 room decoration ideas for a Harry Potter fan:
  1. Lumos Night Light: Create a magical ambiance with a DIY "Lumos" night light using a mason jar filled with fairy lights. Spell out "Lumos" on the jar using letter stickers or by tracing the word with a marker1.
  2. Honeydukes Candy Jar: Transform a regular jar into a Honeydukes-inspired candy container by printing out the Honeydukes logo and attaching it to the jar. Fill it with your favorite sweets for a touch of Hogsmeade in your room1.
  3. Floating Candles: For a truly magical ceiling, suspend battery-operated candles wrapped in paper to mimic the enchanted ceiling of the Great Hall. (Note: Always follow fire safety guidelines and remove after events if required)4.
  4. Hogwarts House Banner: Display your house pride with a banner representing Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. You can purchase one or create your own using fabric and paint3.
  5. Magical Fireplace Display: Decorate your fireplace mantel or a shelf to resemble a wizard's study. Arrange old books, potion bottles, a crystal ball, and a cauldron. For an extra touch, hang Hogwarts acceptance letter envelopes above the fireplace to recreate the iconic scene from the first book4.
  6. Wizarding World Artwork: Adorn your walls with Harry Potter-inspired artwork. You can find printable designs on sites like Etsy, then frame them in thrifted frames for an aged look. Include movie posters, magical creature illustrations, or quotes from the series4.

  • 00:00 Hey everyone in this video I'm going to show you how to do six easy Harry Potter room decorations so let's get started the first DIY I'm going to show you is this lumos night light. You will need a mason jar a string of fairy lights so all you have to do is open up your mason jar and put the lights inside of it and close the jar. I'll be keeping this on my nightstand. So I'll just tape the little battery pack to the back of my nightstand. So you won't really be able to see it. Then. I'm taking these sticker letters that I found on my local craft store to spell out the word lumos. Another cute option is typing up the word lumos on your computer with the lumos font and I'll leave a link to that font Down Below in the description box if you want to use it and you can print it out and then put the piece of paper inside of the Mason jar and take a sharpie and Trace out the letters onto your mason jar and then you can take out that piece of paper and just stick the lights in that'd be cute but I had these letter stickers and I wanted to use them and then I took these little star dials and I put it on the side of lumos. I use three of them.

  • 01:16 I thought they looked like you know when you read the Harry Potter books. They have these three little stars by the chapter number. I thought they kind of resembled them some way and I thought it was really cute and that's it for this DIY. Let's move on to the next one now. I'm going to show you how to make this honeydukes candy jar first you're going to need a jar. I found this jar at Dollar Tree but you can use a mason jar. If you want to or pretty much any jar that opens and closes then you're going to need to print out.

  • 01:51 This honeydukes logo and I'll leave the link to the one that I use Down Below in the description box and you'll need some packing tape. So first I'm taking a piece of tape and placing it on my cutting mat. But you can also place this on a piece of baking parchment paper and then I'm just placing some double-sided tape on top of that this is just so that logo will stick to that bottom packing tape. Then I'm just placing that logo on top of the double-sided tape and then taking another piece of that packing tape and placing it on top of that logo. Then I'm just going to peel all those layers of tape and take my scissors and trim off the bits of tape around the logo. So basically I just made a homemade sticker. If you have sticker paper you can just print the logo out on that then I'm just gonna place the label on my jar and last I'm just going to fill it with the candy of my choosing which is Lemonheads because it's one of my favorites and that's it for this DIY. Next I'll be showing you how to make this cute Wingardium Leviosa wall decor first you will need a feather you will also need some clear fishing line so cut a long piece of fishing line.

  • 03:23 The measurements are up to you depending on how long you want it to hang from your ceiling and take one end of the fishing line and tie it to one end of the feather then take the other side of the fishing line and tie it to the other side of the feather to attach it to the ceiling. I just used a piece of tape because after all it is light as a feather by the way how cute is this tape dispenser. I got it at Dollar Tree. It's okay you're also going to need some letter stickers.

  • 04:07 I just found these cute cursive ones at my local craft store. You can also just type it up and print it out as well. I attached the feather on my ceiling really close to a wall and then spelled out with the letter stickers when guardian Leviosa and that's it. This next DIY is super simple I'm just trying to replicate Harry Potter's grin goats. I can never pronounce that word Bank key and yeah. It's super easy. Let's get into it. You are going to need some sort of a tag. I just found this chalkboard one at my local craft store. You can also find a tag printable on the internet and print that out you are going to need an old looking key.

  • 04:50 Preferably. You should get it in Gold. But I really like this white one. It does have gold in it. You can't really pick it up on the video but yeah I really like this one and since my tag is chalkboard. I'm using this chalk marker to write on it and I'm going to write on the tag volt number 687 which is Harry's volt number and that's it you can obviously hang this wherever you want. I actually made it Aloha Mora. Key holder and I'll leave a link to that video down below in the description box and this would be really cute to hang up on. There the last two DIYs I've seen before on the internet and I thought they were really cool and I wanted to share them with you.

  • 05:29 They are two door decorations. The first one would be really cool if you were a Gryffindor and you wanted to put it up on your bedroom door and they'd have to knock and give you a password to enter or if you were having a Harry Potter party and you can send out invites with a password on it and they can knock on your front door and give you the password to enter the party. All you have to do is print out this fat lady portrait and I'll leave a link to it down below in the description box along with this password text bubble and I'll leave a link to that as well. Down Below in the description box to attach it to your door you can use double-sided tape. The next door decoration idea you will need some sticker letters. I just use these adhesive felt letters that I found at Target. You can also type it up on your computer and print out the letters and attach it to your door with double-sided tape. And I just spelled out. Dumbo I saw this one time before and I thought it was so clever and funny and obviously.
